What is Anemia?


 Anemia is a condition in which count of red blood cells decreased. The condition is also defined as inability of the blood to carry oxygen. The anemia conditions are divided into three types.
There are many symptoms of Anemia which appears as per the level of condition. In starting phase, person feel tired, shortness of breath and unnecessary fatigue and weakness. He also feels inability in exercise. The patient also feels inability in working for long time. He or she gets tired very soon. The condition worsen when person become pale.  Such condition can be very dangerous and it becomes very important to consult with your doctor.
The causes of anemia can be different person to person which includes increased RBC destruction, blood loss and overload of fluid, impaired red blood cell production. The most popular cause of anemia is loss of blood.
Anemia in women is very common condition mostly during pregnancy. Women are more prone to anemia in all stages. There are mainly three types of anemia which are as follows:-
  • First type of anemia caused due to decreased red blood cell production.
  • Second type caused due increased red blood cell breakdown
  • Third type of anemia which is caused due to blood loss.
 The anemia can also be classified on the basis of the size of red blood cells and quantity of hemoglobin present in each cell. The anemia based on the presence of red blood cells is called microcytic, macrocytic and normocytic anemia.  
 Anemia can be cured if taken proper care. If pregnant woman is suffering from anemia then she is advised to consume iron pills. There are also many dietary supplements are available in market which also helps in curing anemia. Although patient with low hemoglobin or anemia requires special care, good diet and proper rest. There are home remedies for anemia is also available as well as you can consult with doctor.
