How to control diabetics? It is
very common question asked by many in today’s time Diabetes is on the rise, yet
most cases are preventable with healthy lifestyle changes. Some can even be
reversed. Taking steps to prevent and control diabetes doesn’t mean living in
deprivation. While eating right is important, you don’t have to give up sweets
entirely or resign yourself to a lifetime of bland “health food”
Exercise: - In general, people
with diabetes should strive to be physically fit. Physical exercise has the
effect of lowering the body's glucose levels - sometimes for as long as 24
hours. Because the most harmful effects of diabetes are caused by elevated
glucose levels, exercise is a valuable tool that allows diabetics to keep
glucose at manageable levels. In addition, exercise also provides the same
benefits to diabetics that it does to non-diabetics - namely, greater overall
fitness, higher strength and endurance, weight loss, higher energy levels,
elevated mood, and more.
Avoid Sweets:-
It will be wise decision if want to control diabetics. You can have
sweets sometimes but in very small quantity. If by mistake, you have taken
sweets more than prescription then check out your sugar level and take the
prescribed medicine.
Check your feet daily:-High blood
sugar levels can damage nerves in your feet, leaving you unable to feel cuts,
blisters, and other injuries. High blood sugar also increases your risk of
infection, allowing a simple blister to develop into a grave problem in a
matter of days. Amputation is a real danger, Campbell says. Can't reach your
feet? Ask a family member or friend to give them a daily once-over, or use a
mirror. Call your doctor immediately if you spot redness, cuts, blisters, or
swelling.
Fibre rich natural
foods:-Diabetics should load up on fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains
as they provide extraordinary support to your digestive system plus your liver.
These foods add up the fibre content that helps in clearing toxins from your
body as fibre binds to wastes and moves them out of your system. It helps in
the treatment of diabetics.
Skip fad diets and just make
healthier choices:-Low-carb diets, the glycemic index diet or other fad diets
may help you lose weight at first, but their effectiveness at preventing
diabetes isn't known nor are their long-term effects. And by excluding or
strictly limiting a particular food group, you may be giving up essential
nutrients. Instead, think variety and portion control as part of an overall
healthy-eating plan.
