What are the causes of Anemia?


Anemia is common problem among women. In case of anemia, a patient may feel extraordinary fatigue. There are multiple reasons of causing anemia. The causes of anemia are as follows
  • Due to blood loss
  • Decreased red blood cell production
  • Destruction of red blood cells
Anemia due to Blood Loss:-  This kind of anemia is caused due to constant blood loss which is sometimes undetected and related to internal process. Blood loss may be caused due to following conditions:-
  • Gastrointestinal conditions such as cancer, hemorrhoids, ulcers, and gastritis
  • Excessive menstrual bleeding after pregnancy.

When the cause of anemia is decreased and faulty red blood cell production:- Sometimes body do not produce blood cells in normal quantity or blood do not function correctly which may cause anemia. Faulty blood cell production caused due to lack of minerals and vitamins in your body which is necessary for the production of blood cells. Faulty blood cell production causes following types of anemia:-
  • Iron Deficiency Anemia
  • Sickle Cell Anemia
  • Stem Cell and bone marrow problems
  • Other health conditions
 Other conditions causing anemia:-  there are many other conditions that causes anemia which only occurs when body produce very less hormones that are important for the red blood cell production. The conditions which cause this type of anemia are as follows:-
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Advanced Kidney Disease
  • Other diseases such as cancer, infection, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis
  • In old age, some people suffer from such conditions.   
Anemia Caused by Destruction of red blood cells:-  There is a kind of anemia which is cased due to destruction of red blood cell which is called hemolytic anemia. In this type of anemia, blood cells are not able to sustain with circulatory system due to routine stress and get destructed at the premature stage. The main causes of hemolytic anemia are as follows:-
  • It is caused due to hereditary such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
  • Toxins created due to live and kidney diseases.
  • Tumors, chemical exposure, hypertension, clotting disorders, vascular grafts.
  • Transfer to the new born from the mother.
