Tanu Weds Manu Returns is 2015's 'First Blockbuster', Eyes 100 Cr in India by NDTV

Film industry insiders with an eye on profit margins have gone off to craft a paean to the box office charms of Tanu Trivedi and Manu Sharma as we write this. Aanand L Rai's hilariously complicated love story, starring Kangana Ranaut, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan, has already made Rs 55 crore in India since releasing last Friday and has been declared 2015?s first Bollywood blockbuster as it speeds towards the 100 crore finish line.

The original 2011 film, to which this is the sequel, was also a hit. For lead actress Kangana, 2015 is turning out as charmed as 2014 when her film Queen won her plaudits, revenues and a National Award.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns is ratcheting up business abroad as well and had the biggest opening weekend of this year's Bollywood films overseas.

Deepika Padukone's Piku has already made Rs 100 crores but that's including its overseas collections. At home, it had earned Rs 73 crores at last count.

With a slew of big banner films, including Dil Dhadakne Do and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, lined up for release in the near future, the box office graph will likely be upwardly mobile for the rest of what has been a largely disappointing year.

Tanu Weds Manu Review

Sometimes, to make sequel may be wrong decision but the case is not true with Tanu Weds Manu. The movie is unbelievably wonderful beyond the expectations. We bring for you highlights from all the major newspaper

Tanu Weds Manu review by Hindustan Times- Kangana Ranuat  has done a fabulous job with her characters Tanu and Datto. Tanu hasn't  lost her weird, irresponsible and audacious ways, Datto is a sincere, young girl, a fiercely independent one, who takes up responsibilities. From the body languages of the two women to their accents, Kangana aces it to the T.  She proves yet again that she is one of the few heroines in Bollywood who is willing to experiment with different roles and still come out as the most convincing every time.

Tanu Weds Manu reviews by First Post:- There it was. The reason people want to watch Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the reason there are great box office expectations of this film and the reason you sit through its two hours is Kangana Ranaut. Queen showcased just how talented she is, but if Tanu Weds Manu Returns does as well as it is expected to, then Ranaut will be the female equivalent of the Khans of Bollywood. She can act in films that are thorough disappointments, but she sells them to you with such charm and style that you don't really care that she and the stories she's telling deserve better.

Tanu Weds Manu Review by Times of India:- Straight away, Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a total delight that keeps you laughing, sighing, cheering - and guessing throughout. After a stormy romance, Tanu (Kangana) married Manu (Madhavan) four years ago. But in London, the sparks between them die.

Tanu Weds Manu Review by India Express:- That is what ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is, ultimately, a film that is enjoyable despite its occasional slides into message-y territory: Rajesh Sharma, as the ‘progressive’ brother of Datto, gets to deliver a speech on female empowerment; Swara Bhaskar has a nice alive bit about a woman making a tough choice, though you do wish it didn’t have to come down to a male acceptance of it. And for a girl who wants everything on her own terms, Tanu’s desperate desire for, and succumbing to, a conventional end feels like it was done to up the feel-good factor.

But these things do not weigh things down because we are too busy watching an actress stride through its ups and downs, earning each scene, and the film. I would buy a ticket for Kangana Ranaut.

Every newspaper is praising for Tanu Weds Manu. So, what are you waiting this time?  Go and watch Tanu weds Manu experience the real entertainment.  Don’t miss such wonderful movie in Multiplex. Downloading and watching is not good idea for such movie.
